edith knew how important is camera was, knew how much he depended on it. and in most cases, she had grown so used to it that she hardly noticed the way it was always around his neck. it was just there. it was just a part of him. but tonight, it was an eye sore. and edith wanted nothing more than to take it off his neck. a part of her would be tempted to throw it against the wall, destroy it and the film inside. but she wouldn't. she couldn't. because sidney didn't deserve that. it was his single lifeline between the two different versions of himself. no matter how much she wanted to destroy it in that moment, she never would. but watching the way he caressed it so carefully, edith felt another surge of jealousy. it was insane. it was unhealthy. to feel jealousy over an inanimate object. but she couldn't help it. because he loved that camera more than he would ever love her. that thought in itself was crippling. but somehow she managed to remain upright. to push such a thought from her head. it didn't matter right now. it didn't matter that he loved a camera more than he loved his wife. all that mattered was getting him through tonight, steering him away from what had really happened in their living room tonight. her name on his lips was enough to send a shudder down her spine. the sensation was quickly followed up by relief as he didn't pull away from her. she was touching him for the second time that night and he wasn't immediately rejecting her. and then her name was slipping from his lips a second time, unable to stop herself she took another half a step closer to him. there was hardly any space left between them. in all honesty, it was the safest she had felt all night. her hands in his, flush against him. because she trusted this sidney with her life, whether he liked it or not. edith's gaze remained on him, wondering briefly just what it was that dashed across the handsome, familiar face. but she didn't let the thought linger long. instead she pushed it out of her mind. if there was one thing she had learned about her husband, it was that if he didn't want her to know something, then there was no point in asking, no point in pushing. at least not in moments like these. still her gaze remained on his face, unwilling to look elsewhere. as he sucked in the sharp breath and tightened his grip on her hands, she continued to study him. waiting for a sign, any sign as to where tonight was going. when his eyes finally opened again, hers were right there waiting, eager to meet his again. "can't do what?" edith asked softly, a bit tentatively, obviously worried that she might push him away again. break his concentration and give him the chance to push her away again. "you don't need to understand." the witch was quick to respond. because he didn't need to understand. edith knew what had happened, she would take care of it, he didn't need to worry about it. "not tonight, anyway." and if she had it her way, the evidence of the entire night would be gone come morning light and he would never have the opportunity to understand it. it was at that moment that she realized her face was creeping closer to his, gaze still holding his though it broke away briefly to glance at his lips. their magnetism at work as she couldn't stop herself. "please, sidney." the witch pleaded again, feeling as though she didn't need to voice what she wanted, because in the next second her lips were on his. gently. hesistantly. but desperately. this character is played by ALANNA |
